Tuition Fees
Tuition fees at most universities are subsidized by government, but vary widely according to province, institution, and program of study. Recently, an increasing number of degree programs, such as the executive master's in business administration degree, are entirely funded through student fees. Tuition fees for public non-degree-granting institutions vary widely across the country. In Quebec, provincial residents pay no fees to enroll in a public college or cégep on a full-time basis. Tuition is charged in all other provinces and territories.
Fees at private non-degree-granting institutions tend to be higher than at public institutions since they usually are not constrained by government funding and publicly established curriculum, accountability mechanisms, or timetables.
At most institutions, tuition fees for international students studying at Canadian postsecondary institutions are considerably higher than fees for domestic students.
